Snow-pocalypse!

More than 18 inches of new snow has accumulated on the West Elk trails since Sunday!

Snow fell all day long on the trails — about 3 more inches. Packing and grooming was a challenge. Todd Kupka, Tim Simonds and Tod Tibbetts ran 3 snowmobiles to pack Hwy 819 and Kay’s Loop.

The ginzugroomer was buried under 3 feet of snow. After digging it out, Todd K and Tim ran the groomer. Snowmobiles got stuck twice and the ginzugroomer got hung up in the soft snow at Dorothy’s View. Quite a day! Thank you Todd, Tim and Tod!

Over 30 inches on top of what is already on the ground is predicted for the Flat Tops from tonight until Sunday. Groomers plan to open more terrain after the snow stops and they can catch up.

Enjoy the powder!
