Saturday, January 23

As of 3:30 pm today the Buford Rd past the cattle grate has not been plowed to the top. The parking lot has been plowed by the Rifle Snowmobile Club. We expect that the road will be plowed by Sunday morning but we don’t know that for certain. If you get to the cattle guard on the Buford Road and it has not been plowed, do not proceed without 4WD. It is dangerous!

From Peggy Tibbetts:

Tod and I ventured out on the trails today. As of 1:00 pm about 10 to 12 inches of new snow had accumulated. By 3:00 pm another 2 inches fell. Snow squalls continue to pass through the region and are expected to continue through the night.

The snow is heavy and dense with a high moisture content, not the usual light fluffy stuff we’re used to but snow is snow and much needed.

If the Buford Road is plowed, the groomers plan to head up on Sunday morning to start packing the trails. Until then enjoy!

Remember!
Skis or snowshoes only!
