Trails are in great shape

West Elk Kay's loop 3-26-16

Last week the trails got around 4-6 inches of high moisture, windblown snow.  Hwy 819, Kay’s Loop and Zeus’s Cutoff were groomed today.  The surface will be hard in the morning but soften as the day gets warmer.

Eric’s Loop was snowmobile packed as the trail has gotten too narrow in spots for the groomer to be used.  This loop is still a great ski.

We will be pulling stakes off the trails on Saturday, 4/2 starting around noon.  Any skiers that want to help, pull a few stakes and put them in a pile at the side of the trail for the sled to pick up. The end of the grooming season is not the end of skiing or snowshoeing, with the base snow totally firm, going almost anywhere in the woods is possible.

Enjoy the Spring conditions!
