Happy New Year!

West Elk Kays 1-1-16

Kay’s Loop and Hwy 819 are groomed.  The weather has been cold, so the snow is soft even after the grooming.

West Elk Erics 1-1-16

Eric’s Loop has 4-6 inches of fresh snow on a firmly packed base. The snow is staying soft because of the chilly temps.  Soft snow, fresh groomed trials and forecast for another sunny day should make for great skiing tomorrow.

VANDALISM ON THE TRAILS

We were going to put trail signs out today but someone stole all the marker posts off Hwy 819 and Kay’s Loop.  Unfortunately replacing these posts is not an inexpensive, or quick and easy process.  We are not sure when we will be able to get trail signs up.  Please leave the trailer markers on the trail.

Caution_Grooming signTod Tibbetts will be conducting grooming operations on all trails through the weekend.  At any given time you may encounter the Bearcat snowmobile on the trails along with the ginzugroomer. The snow is soft and deep off the edges and it’s easy for our equipment to get stuck.

Stop. Look. Listen.

Please yield to snowmobiles, especially the Bearcat when it’s pulling the ginzugroomer. Step to the side, off the trail and let the equipment pass by. If you are in a group, please have everyone step to the same side and not both sides so there’s enough room for the equipment to pass by safely. Thank you!
