Eric’s Loop has been packed with snowmobiles!

Thanks to Bruce Kime and John Guerrerio breaking trail on snowshoes and shoveling on Eric’s Loop on Friday and Saturday, Tod Tibbetts was able to open up the trail with the Arctic Cat snowmobile on Sunday. Then he smoothed it out with the Polaris. Tod and Peggy skied it and put out stakes. The trail needs more skier and snowshoer traffic to track it out. Remember to snowshoe and ski the edges of the trail to keep it as wide as possible. This is one way you can help maintain the trails while you enjoy them. If you’re looking for bottomless powder stashes, head out on Eric’s Loop. Just off the piste there is more powder than you can possibly imagine. Snow was falling lightly as we headed down today.

To date eight men (Tod Tibbetts, Bruce Kime, John Guerrerio, Edgar Davidson, Steve King, Chad Prokop, Todd Kupka, Jay from Wisconsin) and four women (Peggy Tibbetts, Melissa DeHaan, Kyle Grambley, and co-worker) have volunteered 91 hours since December 19 to open up the trails to this point. This was our most challenging December and trail opening. The trails are in great shape. We thank our volunteers for all their hard work!

Grooming operations will resume Friday or Saturday (1/4-1/5) provided we can find a crew. Call Tod Tibbetts if you can help out: 970-876-2196

Until then enjoy the trails!

Happy New Year!
