Volunteer action today prepared trails for weekend recreation

Thanks for the grooming efforts today of Edgar Davidson, Bruce Kime and John Guerrerio, and Steve King and Chad Prokop. Between snowmobiling, snowshoeing, shoveling, and putting out marker stakes, these guys did an excellent job setting up the trails for the weekend.

Hwy 819 and Kay’s Loop have been packed, leveled in spots and marked. Edgar ran the Polaris snowmobile to pack and finish the surface, while Steve and Chad staked and shoveled snow in a couple of spots to level the trail.

Bruce and John showshoed Eric’s Loop setting a good track for hearty skiers or shoers. There is a good chance we’ll have people to pack Eric’s Loop with snowmobiles on Sunday.

There was around 7″ of new snow with 12-18″ drifts in the open meadows. Because of the colder weather, the snow is light and sparkly in the sun, when it peeks out behind the dominant clouds. This weekend is forecast dry with more snow as we get closer to the New Year. There is a good possibility for a great moonlight ski on Saturday night.

Thanks again to the crew that spent the day today getting the trails ready for your enjoyment.
